miscLab's research grows out of digitization practice and real project needs. We focus on how to capture, process and output high-quality images in a stable and repeatable way. The objects we work with include cultural relics, historic buildings, archaeological sites, museum and private collections, historical archives, artists' works, paintings, photographs, negatives, films, rubbings, books, murals and other visual materials with value for preservation, research or presentation. Our research supports not only individual capture tasks, but complete workflows: preliminary assessment, technical planning, on-site capture, scanning and photography, image processing, 3D reconstruction, color management, data management and delivery. For different material properties, precision requirements and final uses, miscLab builds stable, reliable and verifiable digitization workflows. In cultural-heritage digitization, we care about authenticity, completeness, geometric accuracy, color consistency, data security and long-term usability. We also care about the practical value of digital outcomes in conservation, academic research, exhibition, public communication and digital asset management. In art production and image archives, we provide long-term production and digitization support for artists, photographers, curators, galleries and art institutions. Paintings, works on paper, photographic works, films, negatives and transmissive originals have demanding requirements for detail, tonal hierarchy, color, texture and final presentation; related research feeds directly into scanning, calibration, color management, file organization, output and long-term preservation. Transmissive original scanning, especially film digitization, is one of miscLab's core technical directions. Around negatives, positives, motion-picture film and other transparent media, we have built a highly specialized methodology and continue to study resolution, dynamic range, color rendering, grain behavior, shadow detail, density control and image consistency. miscLab does not simply perform digitization. We also continue to explore next-generation high-precision image digitization methods. We believe valuable digitization is not just a visual copy of an object, but a future-facing foundation for cultural, artistic and image assets, built through precise data, rigorous methods and a deep understanding of materials and images.
